The Copper Still opened in June of 2014 and was born out of the idea that 2nd Avenue could use a family style Irish Pub with a great whiskey selection.
Mike, Shane and Brendan, owners of The Copper Still, are all originally from Ireland and have been living and working in NYC for over 40 years combined. They count many of the Irish owners and bartenders at McSorley's and Dempsey's their friends. In fact, you may find Mike and Shane at McSorley's where they also work.
The bar is always staffed with a native Irish bartender - Pete, Dave or Brendan will always be in a crisp black button down shirt ready to pour you a pint of Guinness.
Besides having a collection of 200+ whiskey's, including the evasive Pappy Van Winkle, the food is an upscale take on classic pub food. The kitchen is open late and brunch is served on the weekend (with an option for unlimited bloody mary's or mimosa's...).
